The Douglas PPS22-SQ Portable Pickleball System (3' x 22') raises the bar and is the gold standard when permanent installation is not desired for either indoor or outdoor court applications. What sets this portable pickleball system apart from other portable systems? It is the closest you can get to a permanent net’s durability and quality without having to deal with the expense of drilling and pouring concrete. The system boasts all the features of the Douglas® Premier™ Posts and plays like a permanent system. Unlike other portable units, the PPS-22SQ utilizes a center strap to achieve the proper 34″ center net height for regulation play. The PPS-22SQ system is easy to assemble and only requires a couple of tools for complete assembly. All post and base frame pieces slide into place and are secured with pre-drilled set screws. There are no small pieces to assemble.Rugged Solid Steel Construction:The 3” square vertical post is constructed from heavy-duty 11-gauge steel. Heavy-duty base frame is also constructed of 3/16” wall 11-gauge 3” square steel. The system is completely finished with a black baked-on polyester powder coat to resist rust and increase durability. The system can be used on both indoor and outdoor surfaces and is completely weather-treated for year-round use. It is recommended that you store the system indoors during the off-season for prolonged life.Professional Quality Net:The net tension on typical portable pickleball nets is under 20 pounds. The net tension on the PPS-22SQ system is closer to the true permanent net tension of 400-500 pounds. Just like an in-ground tennis net post system, the pickleball net attaches with the top headband cable, and tension is achieved with the internal wind gear system. The net is then attached at the top and bottom eyebolts, no lacing rods are needed. The system includes the PN-30 Pickleball Net and a Velcro Center Strap. The net body is constructed of 3.0 mm polyethylene netting with a white vinyl-coated polyester headband. All net components are completely treated against the elements. Black polyethylene netting is weather-treated and headband materials are engineered to withstand any direct sun and moisture.Transporter Wheel Assembly:The transporter wheel assembly allows for the systems to be moved on and off the court with ease. The heavy-duty non-scuff wheels are secured to the transporter assembly with smooth swivel casters that make moving the 290-pound system effortless. When it is time to set the system in place for game play; the transporter brackets simply flip up and out of the way. The non scuff wheels are always resting on the court so there’s no need to worry about damaging the court’s surface.
