If your bag does get soaking wet, do not force-dry it with heat. Wipe it with a dry cloth and let it dry slowly at room temperature, ensuring it maintains its shape during the drying process. Extra Tips: Cover Up: Store your bag in the original dust bag, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Stuff it to maintain shape, but avoid using newspapers as they can smear. Air it every few weeks to prevent mold. No Alcohol: Avoid products containing alcohol or acetone as they can damage the leather. Stretch Marks: Do not overstuff your bag as leather stretches out but does not revert back. Humidity can accelerate this process. Smells: If your bag absorbs odors, place an open container of baking soda inside and leave it overnight to absorb the smells. This is a natural material so your bag may have a varied texture. Some colours may transfer if worn against light clothing. Solid brass will oxidise slowly over time, but can be brought back to a shiny finish with a brass cleaner and soft cloth. Take care not to spill the cleaner on the leather as it may stain. We provide a complimentary water repellent leather cleaning balm with all our bags, which cleans and replenishes the original softness and handle of the leather whilst providing a degree of water resistance. Made from a blend of natural waxes, oils & lanolin, this special sap helps protect our bags against daily rigours and the harsh elements. A little goes a long way so only put a small amount on a soft lint-free cloth and apply in a circular motion. Leave to soak in for a few minutes then gently buff the excess off with a clean cloth. Always avoid getting leather wet, but if you do get caught in the rain allow your bag to dry naturally in a cool, airy environment, not on a radiator. When completely dry, apply the leather balm following the instructions above to restore suppleness.
