Namchi/Namji dolls are carved from African Rosewood, a legume tree native to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. A single block of African Rosewood wood is hand carved into a geometric shape and decorated with multi coloured beads, metals, fibre, cowrie shells, coins, and even leather. Each doll is carved with a unique stature and facial expression. Unadorned dolls made by blacksmiths are played with by young children.  Size: H 29cm W 10cm D 8cm Base Depth: 10cm Dusting: Dust the doll gently with a soft, dry cloth. Cleaning: Avoid water, chemical cleaners, or polishes, which can damage the wood, beads, and leather. If necessary, a slightly damp cloth may be used to remove dirt. Handling: Handle the doll by its base to avoid putting pressure on delicate bead attachments or beaded appendages. Environment: Display the doll in a stable, dry environment. Keep it away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture to prevent damage and discoloration.
