Terry Farmer is emerging as a singular and unique voice in the acoustic music world. His music is a fusion of folk, classical guitar and rock & roll wrapped in a spiritual heart. Farmer is a player in the national and Michigan music scene. Since the mid-eighties his career as a band leader and songwriter has taken him to the four corners of the country. Recently, he spent five years studying classical guitar at the University of Denver and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Terry returns to his roots with River Runs Free, a solo CD released on Terradactyl Records in 2000. Since the of River Runs Free, Terry has performed at the 2001 Kerrville Folk Festival as a New Folk Finalist, appeared on KUNI's Live from Studio One in Cedar Falls, opened for diverse artists such as Claudia Schmidt, Suzanne McDermott, Pat MacDonald, and SONiA of Disappear Fear. A guided journey through a series of incantationsThroughout human history the flute has been closely associated with mystical ritual and states of meditationand reflection. This is as true of Sufism, the Hindu deity Krishna as well as the Japanese shakuhachi- whose origins are shrouded in Buddhist mystery - and the many biblical references of the flute. Often ithas been seen as symbolising either the breath or the heart of God. In addition to these profound spiritualassociations of the flute, it has also been linked to celebrations of nature through countless folkloric talesfrom around the world. Every piece on this disc is in some way linked to ideas of mystical spaces andplaces - each an incantation. Our guide (il nostro Guido) on this disc is the flautist Roberto Fabbriciani -whose work I have held in the highest regard for many years. I am very proud indeed to be able to counthim as a dear friend and collaborator. He provided me with my first international commission (this has already)passed/passing aperformance of which you can hear on this disc.This is the first portrait disc of my work to be commercially released and I am delighted that this comesabout as a fruit of my continued friendship with maestro Fabbriciani.

Recorded in the summer of 2013, with an ensemble of seven musicians, 'Dolce Napoli' presents unique concertos and sonatas by amongst others Fiorenza, Rosa, Leo, Pullj and Mancini, including works only very recently rediscovered. The CD also premieres two copies of Italian Baroque recorders never heard in modern times, which were the focus of this project. Also unique is the use of three different pitches for the recording, accompanying the original pitches of the recorders utilized.
