This is a brand new 1/72 scale diecast model of the Sherman Firefly Mk.VC Medium Tank "Velikye Luki, A Squadron, 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry, 33rd Armoured Brigade, Normandy" (1944), British Army, made by Legion. The model is a limited edition, made of diecast metal with some plastic parts, and features true-to-scale detail with a detailed exterior. It does not have any openings and comes in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging. The tank includes an elevating cannon for dynamic display options, painted non-moving tracks on detailed non-rotating wheels, and pad-printed markings and placards for long-lasting accuracy. It measures approximately 3 inches long (3.875 inches with cannon), 1.375 inches wide, and 1.5 inches high, with realistic panel lines, access panels, and surface details for an authentic representation. The Sherman Firefly Mk.VC was a modified M4 Sherman fitted with the British 17-pounder anti-tank , giving Allied armored units the firepower to engage heavily armored German tanks. A Squadron of the 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry, part of the 33rd Armoured Brigade, operated these tanks during the Normandy campaign and subsequent advances into Germany, providing long-range anti-armor support and working alongside infantry units. This model captures a historically significant vehicle from the closing battles of World War II, making it a detailed and accurate collectible for enthusiasts of British armored history and late-war combat vehicles.
